Angelic cooking...

A secret about me is this, I like baseball. It's a more than recent discovery for me and it's something that I've found that I really enjoy. I used to think it was the most boring thing in the world. I thought that watching paint dry was more interesting than watching several innings of people hitting, and more than likely missing, a small little white ball in a diamond shaped field. Yesterday, I was watching the Yankee's and Angel's game, and I couldn't help but hope that the Angels would win. They had no chance of winning and the more outs they were receiving, the more swings they were missing, and the more blind they got made me feel really bad for them. I became so involved with the game that I decided that the underdog is my team. Yeah, the Yankee's are well known and to be honest they're pretty good. But, it's the Angels, the team that really sucked it up yesterday, that we all should be rooting for. They are the one's that need the support! Now, before we get ourselves into a debate on which team is better let me say this, the Angels aren't my team, I've simply decided that any team that one would consider the "underdog", is now my team. I'm pretty sure that once I become more involved with the game of baseball in general I will find a team but right now the underdog is for whom I'm going to be there!

Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives has set the wheels in motion for the long-time desire that I have to open my own cafe/diner. It's been a passion of mine since I was in the 7th grade. I've imagined, schemed up, and planned exactly what I've wanted this diner to look like and to be like. I've had the idea in my head for years and watching this TV show has helped me see that it can, indeed, become a reality. I watch the show whenever I have the chance and see just how young the people are who own and operate these places. Some of them don't seem to be much older than I am and they've been successful in their ventures. These people have helped me see that it is possible and I can do it. I've also been cooking for years. It's been a practice that I've been doing longer than the 7th grade. I used to make things and take them around to the people in the neighborhood to see how they would like them. I went to cooking school for about a year before my mission and when I was on my mission I would cook for the other elders in my apartment. When I went off to college I would cook for my neighbors so that I could practice my skills and keep them strong. Now, I'm married and I'm starting to develop my own recipes in the hope that I can use them for the public someday. When I finally start this business you all better be lining the streets to try my excellent cuisine!
