Winter is Coming
Have you ever been so enthralled with a book that the moment you put it down you want to pick it back up again? Have you ever been so entranced by something you've been reading that every character, in some aspect, is a representation of who you are? Have you ever been so enraptured by the pages of a novel that when something terrible happens to it's characters you feel the pains they are going through? That's how I feel right now. I'm reading a book that has me wrapped around it's inky script. The characters are my friends and I want everything to be okay for them. It seems like half of time when I'm reading I want to rip the book in half because of the decisions the characters are making. I'm so enraged by their choices that I want to throw the book across the room and read something else. I've cried while reading this book and I've been so happy that I've laughed out loud. The book I'm reading is a really good book. It's titled A Game of Thrones. It's about a land brewing with deceit. Families falling apart, forces colliding and trying to take control of one another and killing off others. It's about assassins, bastards, terrors, and I'm pretty sure a war is about to start although I'm not there yet. Plans are be hatched, schemes are being plotted and small children are being pushed out of windows. "Winter is coming"
As I was typing this I was reminded of The Never Ending Story. If you haven't seen the movie or read the book you should. They are both good but I was thinking about the movie.
